As an Academy with profound ideals based upon our Christian foundation, we strive to introduce Christian aspects of teaching into all that we do.

During Form time each day all students participate in a daily act of Worship which includes prayer and time for reflection. There is also a weekly assembly in St. Matthew’s Church when the whole Academy gathers to enjoy thought-provoking talks and performances.

Spirituality at Blue Coat Church of England Academy

We hold regular meetings for staff and students, during which prayers are said and thoughts are focused on people in need.

As an Academy we strive to foster a caring attitude towards the wider global community in which we live. Each year we raise money for a charity voted for by all members of the school community.

“Blue Coat Church of England Academy is an inclusive school where kindness flourishes. The school’s values include wisdom, service, endurance and hope. The school’s culture is rooted in these values. There are positive relationships between staff and pupils. Staff know their pupils well, and pupils feel cared for. Staff have high expectations, and pupils live up to these” Ofsted January 2023

“Deeply held values permeate every aspect of school life. Students understand them as distinctively Christian and from the perspective of students of other faiths”
