'Our Voice' Poetry Competition

‘Our Voice’ Poetry Competition

If the answer to these questions is yes, then you should enter the ‘Our Voice’ poetry competition!

Bring the Power, Birmingham 2022’s Youth Programme, is inviting young people aged 6 to 14 to write poetry on the theme of 'finding common ground'. The poems will highlight how the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games are bringing together nations and territories, athletes and communities across the Commonwealth.

The winners and runners-up will be rewarded with some amazing prizes, including a workshop with a professional poet at their school or youth club (for winners only) and the opportunity for young poets to have their poems showcased at Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games festival sites across Birmingham.

The competition is open to all young people in Birmingham and the West Midlands area.

Entries must be submitted on the Our Voice poem template. Paper copies of this can be found in the LRC. Alternatively, if you would like to submit an electronic copy, here is a link: Entry Form

Please email any electronic copies to Miss Duncombe or Miss Khatkar using your school email address by 3pm on Thursday 23nd June.

Please post any paper copies into the submissions box in the LRC by 3pm on Wednesday 22nd June.

Good luck!
