Blue Coat Sunday
Blue Coat Sunday is on Sunday 8th March 2026. The service will begin at 10.45a.m. in St. Matthew’s Church. We will be celebrating the 370th anniversary of Blue Coat in Walsall which will include the publication of The History of the Blue Coat Schools – Centuries of Service in Walsall

Saturday 7th March 2026 – Tours of Blue Coat Church of England Academy 

An opportunity to relive your school days with a tour of the secondary school on Birmingham Street.  Your guides will be current students of the school and staff will be on hand to answer any questions. St. Matthew’s Church will also be open for you to visit either before or after your tour.  Refreshments will be available at St. Matthew’s. Tours of the school are free but please book places for everyone attending to start your tour at one of the following times: 1.30p.m., 2.00p.m. or 2.30p.m. Book here.

School Tours will last around an hour.  Tours are not exclusively for “Old Blues” everyone is welcome to attend so please bring along family and friends if you wish.

Sunday 8th March 2026 – Sunday Lunch

To mark the 370th Anniversary of Blue Coat in Walsall,  there is an opportunity to join us for lunch after the Blue Coat Sunday Service at Blue Coat Church of England Academy.  Places are limited, so please book early.  The cost of the lunch is £12.50 per head and will include Sunday Lunch (beef, chicken or a vegetarian alternative) and a dessert (apple crumble or sticky toffee pudding).
