Blue Coat Academy entrepreneurs win cash prize for their business venture from The King’s Trust Enterprise Challenge

June 16, 2025

Last Friday 5 of our Year 10 girls pitched their business idea for a second time to a panel at The King’s Trust Enterprise challenge.

Claire Daniel (CEO Edgbaston Priory Club) gave the girls some valuable input and advice on their last visit and after a successful second pitch the judging panel deliberated and decided to award them a start-up fund of £250 to get their idea off the ground.

On the second round, Miss Addison who has supported the girls all along the way said, “they showed confidence, determination, and belief in what they want to achieve. All five of our pupils represented the school with all the Blue Coat values on display for all to see. They were an absolute credit to the school.”

The girls were able to gain an insight into Claire’s journey of becoming a CEO and were given the opportunity to have a tennis lesson with one of Edgbaston’s coaches

As a Rights Respecting School we understand that the aims of education extend far past the classroom and developing the pupil’s personalities, talents and abilities are just as important (Right 29)
