Blue Coat Academy pupils perform at Walsall Arena for the second of three ‘Once Upon a Christmas’ performances.

December 3, 2025

Our students who have vocal lessons and are in our school choir performed at Walsall Arena last Wednesday in the second of three concerts organised by Walsall Music Education Service titled Once Upon a Christmas.

The students were part of a choir of around 200 students from schools across Walsall performing 10 songs telling different stories of Christmas. All the songs, many of which had harmony parts, were performed without music or lyric sheets and so the students have been busy rehearsing and learning them for a number of weeks. What a fantastic achievement! We are very proud to see them going up on the stage to give it their all and shine through the power of music.

Thank you to Joe Novelli, Mr Gardner, and Mrs Morris for their dedication and support in making this happen.

As a Rights Respecting school, we believe that every child has the right to rest, relax, play, and take part in cultural and creative activities (Right 31) and what better way than to explore the world of music.
