The James Brindley Foundation deliver workshops on Knife Crime

May 13, 2025

Monday 12th May 2025 we welcomed Lee Moore from the James Brindley Foundation. He worked with 25 students from years 7-10. They completed a workshop on knife crime. During this session students participated in practical activities exploring the impact of knife crime. They looked into the wide network of people affected by this on a daily basis; from the victim to family members and the wider community.

Students were able to speak openly about how they felt about knife crime and the reasons people felt the need to carry a weapon.

We had some great feedback from Lee about our student’s engagement and conduct during the sessions.

‘I wanted to say how much of a pleasure it was to teach your students. They were engaged, respectful, and behaved exceptionally well throughout both sessions. Please do pass on my thanks to the Heads of Year, their support clearly contributes to the fantastic attitudes I saw.’

We believe that all children have the right to protection from violence and against exploitation of any kind, workshops such as this reinforce the Rights of the Child, this specific workshop links to Right 19 and Right 36
