The James Brindley Foundation deliver workshops on Knife Crime

13 May 2025

Monday 12th May 2025 we welcomed Lee Moore from the James Brindley Foundation. He worked with 25 students from years 7-10. They completed a workshop on knife crime. During this session students participated in practical activities exploring the impact of knife crime. They looked into the wide network of people affected by this on a daily basis; from the victim to family members and the wider community.Students were able to speak openly about how they felt about knife crime and the reasons people felt the need to carry a weapon. We had some great feedback from Lee about our student’s engagement and conduct during the sessions.‘I wanted to say how much of a pleasure it was to teach your students. They were engaged, respectful, and behaved exceptionally well throughout both sessions. Please do pass on my thanks to the Heads of Year, their support clearly contributes to the fantastic attitudes I saw.’We believe that all children have the right to protection

French Visit to Normandy

28 Apr 2025

At the start of the Easter break, pupils and staff enjoyed a residential trip to Normandy. This has been a very successful trip in previous years and this year has been no exception! The group started their trip by catching a very early coach which took them to the port where they embarked on crossing The Channel via a ferry trip. Their accommodation, The Chateau, was very impressive. From here they took part in many different activities including exploring the grounds and surrounding woodland, archery, fencing, baking, campfires, games and more. Day trips included visiting a mini farm, supermarche and of course the Bayeux Tapestry. This trip gave the pupils a chance experience French language and culture and they did very much enjoy making such special memories with their peers. A big thanks must go to Mr Parrott, Mr Holmes , Ms Baskerville and Miss Addison for accompanying the
