Road to Success Day 28/03/2025. Year 11 and 13 final preparations for exam season.

Road to Success Day, Friday 28th March 2025

On this day only Year 11 and Year 13 will be in school as we are running a Road to Success Day to support their final preparations for the summer examination season, which requires additional staffing to make the day run as smoothly as possible. Students in other year groups should not attend on this day.This is a day entirely focused on Year 11 and 13. The day is split into sessions for each subject, often in smaller groups, and is designed to provide focused feedback to students in preparation for their final push towards the exam season. Combined with lunchtime and after-school interventions these are the final touches that in previous years have seen positive outcomes for our students taking exams.The day will run to normal school times. 1965-2025 Blue Coat Festival

Blue Coat Festival 2025- Building on Firm Foundations

On the 25th February, a month ago today,  the Blue Coat Federation launched the 2025 Blue Coat Festival; an annual celebration of the Infants, Juniors and Secondary Blue Coat Church of England schools in Walsall, in partnership with St Matthews Church. This year marked a milestone year which sees 60 years since the schools moved into their new locations, following the opening of the new secondary school site on Birmingham Street. The theme for this year was Building on Firm Foundations. Our pupils were able to explore St Matthews Church and were given special access to a tour of the church grounds, including the crypt. The final day of the festival is Blue Coat Sunday, another annual tradition which is hundreds of years old which. Parent/Carer Support for Students Approaching Exams- Y10, Y11, Y12 and Y13

The Walsall Community Health Team will host a session around supporting parents/carers to help pupils through stressful exam periods. The session will last for around an hour and begin at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday 26th March in the school hall. The team will look at strategies and techniques for managing stress in young adults around the exam season.
