Three weeks ago, on 17th December 2025, we held an in-house Talent Show. Our wonderful pupils were brave enough to get on the stage to sing, dance and act in front of a packed school-hall and our student judges. It was a fun and enjoyable time for all. Well done to all our performers, you are all stars!Right 13- share freely what they learn, think and feel by talking, drawing, writing or in any other way. Annual OAP Christmas Party, 15.12.2025

Three weeks ago, on 15th December 2025, BCA had the pleasure of welcoming some of the local community to school for the annual OAP Christmas Party. This is an evening where the whole Academy gets involved- whether it be with donations, decorating the hall, wrapping gifts, greeting guests or being present for the event itself. Takeover Day, 21st November 2025

Friday 21st November was Takeover Day where students took over various roles within the Academy.Pupils were asked to submit applications so they could see the goings-on in various aspects of school-life. The successful applicants worked alongside administrators, teachers, the site team and even the principal! A BCA first: Sixth Form Psychology, Sociology & Criminology students visit Shrewsbury Prison.

Yesterday, students from year 13 Psychology, Sociology and Criminology courses went on a trip to Shrewsbury Prison to learn how prisons are run, what their conditions are like and what is involved in their use, linking to different parts of all students' subjects. The students benefitted from a guided tour picking up some fascinating facts, were able to explore during lunch and also took part in an escape room. The students were in groups of 5 whilst staff were in a separate escape room in the dark! The Wizard of Oz: A Wicked Pantomime, Year 7

Last Tuesday, Year 7 students followed the yellow brick road to Walsall Arena's festive pantomime; 'The Wizard of Oz: A Wicked Pantomime'. Our students really embraced the spirit of the performance getting involved with singing along, inflatable throwing and laughing at the cheesy jokes. Local Poet and Playwright delivers poetry workshop to Year 8

On Thursday 27th November, Nafeesa Hamid visited and delivered a session to Year 8 students about how poetry and creative writing influences careers and futures.
