The King’s Trust Enterprise Challenge 2026: Regional Final 2026- Year 10 deliver environmentally friendly ‘Smoothie’ pitch

June 2, 2026

Blue Coat Academy were one of only five schools at the event on 19th May at The King’s Trust Centre in Birmingham to be chosen to attend this exciting event.

Our team had to design, develop and pitch a business plan to a prestigious judging panel. The team prepared and delivered an excellent pitch for their sustainable and eco-friendly business idea, speaking confidently and with conviction with a clearly laid out business plan.

The pupils had a tour of the Birmingham centre, then had some time to practice their pitch before lunch.

Then on to the main event in the afternoon, our Year 10 entrepreneurs presented first and set the bar high. After all five schools had delivered their pitches, the judges were off to deliberate. In the interim, there was an inspirational speaker- Hezron Brown; he’s won awards such as King’s Trust Ambassador of the Year and a Pride of Britain award. He gave an incredible snapshot into his journey of where is today. He has helped countless young people by his story of being involved in a life of crime and being given a second chance and seizing this with both hands. He now talks to thousands of young people to help steer them away from gangs, drugs and violence. He was incredibly passionate about what he does and such an inspiration to all in the room.

Blue Coat Academy narrowly missed out on winning. The team put in an incredible amount of work and were a real credit to us all and walked away with their heads held high. Well done #TeamBlueCoat you were AMAZING.

Thank you to Miss Addison in supporting our students, what an experience for everyone.
