World Mental Health Day 2023 #HelloYellow

Today (10/10/23) is World Mental Health Day, a day in which we raise awareness of the importance of looking after our mental health. 39.2% of 6 to 16 year olds have experienced deterioration in mental health since 2017.

If you would like support in how to help your children with their mental health, there are a range of resources available.

  • Twinkle have lots of posters and activity packs for young people to fill in.
  • Young Minds are the UK’s leading charity for supporting young people’s mental health. They deliver programmes around the country; fundraise, and offer a helpline for parents/carers to use if they are concerned about their child’s wellbeing.
  • ITV are running an ongoing campaign called ‘Britain Get Talking’ which is to encourage families to start talking about their feelings. Visit their website to view their national homework exercise, amongst other activities and tips for starting difficult conversations.
